In connection with the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021), the My Space Love Story Foundation is launching another community-focused initiative.
This time, our focus centers on athletics and empowering children and youth with disabilities, as well as underrepresented youth from various backgrounds.
With strategic support from PKN ORLEN, we are organizing the "OLYMPIAD OF DREAMS – REACH FOR THE STARS" project from July 26 to August 6. Hosted by our co-organizer, the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport (AWFiS), the university's athletic facilities offer an ideal venue for friendly competition.
This project aims to foster inclusion, advance disability awareness, and encourage positive social attitudes. We want to show that athletics can serve as a powerful platform for building community, forging new friendships, exploring the world, and developing essential life skills.
Guided by the Olympic motto—"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win, but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle"—we aim to instill this spirit in every participant.
The event brings together children from Municipal Social Welfare Centers (MOPS) in Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot, members of the Voluntary Labour Corps (OHP), and dedicated volunteers. We look forward to healthy competition, shared joy, and active participation from all involved.
The event was held under the patronage of distinguished institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport, the Mayors of Sopot and Gdynia, AWFiS Gdańsk, the Polish Olympic Committee, TVP3 Gdańsk, the Polish Paralympic Committee, BAUHAUS Sp. z o.o., Modern Forms Sp. z o.o., the State Forests, Kobiety Pomorza, Hotel Sopot, Corleonis, the Sopot Tourism Organization, the Voluntary Labour Corps (OHP), and many others.
