The Sopot-based My Space Love Story Foundation, together with its strategic partner Grupa LOTOS S.A., is pleased to continue educating children on road safety. Encouraged by positive feedback from previous joint initiatives, they organized another edition of the LOTOS Safety Academy for Children in May and June 2022.
The objective of the LOTOS Safety Academy for Children is to build and deepen road safety knowledge through interactive games and activities. This May–June edition involved 10 schools across the Pomeranian Voivodeship, including Sopot, Gdynia, Szemud, Kosakowo, Pelplin, Wicko, Kolbudy, and Rumia, bringing together approximately 400 children aged 7–14.
The Academy comprises two main components—theoretical and practical—culminating in the bicycle license examination. In the theoretical portion, an instructor covers road safety rules, introducing road signs, intersection types, and proper traffic behavior.
Special guests, including a paramedic and a firefighter, lead sessions on first aid and emergency response. They demonstrate proper bandaging techniques, CPR maneuvers using training mannequins, and choking interventions for infants—all reinforced through hands-on practice.
Participants then move to the practical phase in a custom mobile traffic park. Set up with road markings, intersections, and mini traffic signs, the area allows children to navigate on bicycles according to traffic regulations. This hands-on evaluation tests both theory and practical application, with successful completion earning participants their bicycle license.
Additionally, participants receive certificates and gift packages—including reflective gear, drawstring bags, and t-shirts—provided by Grupa LOTOS and the My Space Love Story Foundation.
