LOTOS Safety Academy

In light of students returning to school and the rise in road accidents, the My Space Love Story Foundation—in partnership with strategic partner Grupa LOTOS S.A.—launched another initiative: "LOTOS SAFETY ACADEMY."

This time, our focus centered on road safety for all commuters and pedestrians.

The Foundation's goal was to build awareness and deepen knowledge regarding traffic safety, road rules, and pre-hospital first aid. We aimed to motivate young people to adopt safe habits using creative and innovative educational methods. Our objective is to establish ongoing partnerships with schools to promote preventive actions and raise road safety awareness among both youth and their parents.

The event took place on December 11 and targeted children and youth aged 5–15 from Municipal Social Welfare Centers (MOPS). The program featured the following highlights:

Participants had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a four-wheeled vehicle for the first time by driving go-karts. Guided by expert trainers, the session began with an introduction to the equipment, safety theory, and the history of the sport before the children hit the track. This served as an excellent introduction for young drivers, instilling proper habits for operating motor vehicles.
We also hosted a session with a defensive driving instructor, who covered pedestrian and driver etiquette, highlighted proper road behavior, and pointed out hazards to avoid.
We built a mini traffic park to teach young participants proper road conduct early on. Guided by a police officer who explained traffic laws in detail, the children practiced navigating roads safely on their own.
Special surprises added to the experience, including an inspiring meeting with a professional motorsport driver. The athlete shared his journey, encouraged the children, and demonstrated that dreams are achievable through hard work while providing valuable advice and racing stories.
First aid workshops were held to prepare youth for life-threatening situations and equip them to perform emergency care calmly. Participants learned to assess risks, protect themselves and victims, and administer first aid effectively.
The event concluded with interactive road safety quizzes and prizes for participants.

A key element of the project was its hands-on approach, allowing participants to learn and internalize road safety principles through practical experience.

All participants were provided with reflective vests and safety accessories to increase their visibility on the roads.

We hope the participants gained valuable knowledge, developed positive habits, and enjoyed an engaging experience.

Our sincere thanks go to all partners and patrons who made this event possible!
